Ship History

Héros was a 74-gun third rate ship of the line of the French Navy, built at Rochefort from 1795 to 1801 by the naval engineer Roland. She was one of the numerous Téméraire Class 74-gun ships designed by Sané.

She was one of five surviving French ships at the Battle of Trafalgar.

She also participated in the breakout of Calais in December of 1807, where she and the Majestueux sunk HMS Goliath in several severe broadside salvoes.
